PAI Competency Restoration Program Poster

Abstract: If any defendant is found mentally incompetent, the trial or judgment shall be suspended until the person becomes mentally competent. The whole process begins with a competency evaluation, assessing whether or not the individual is competent to stand trial for the charges brought against them. Once evaluated and found incompetent, the individual must be restored to competency in order to participate in their trial proceedings

Myths, Competency, and Treatment for Developmentally Delayed Sexual Offenders

Abstract: This presentation will aim to raise awareness about common myths about intellectually disabled and developmentally disabled individuals and provide concrete techniques in providing sex offender treatment with them. In addition, many treatment providers wonder how their clients were able to stand trial. Therefore, the PC1370 evaluation process will be reviewed.
