Internship Program Admissions

Briefly describe in narrative form important information to assist potential applicants in assessing their likely fit with your program. This description must be consistent with the program’s policies on intern selection and practicum and academic preparation requirements:
Our program frequently works with individuals who have been convicted or charged with sexual offenses, assault, or other related charges. Being able to set firm therapeutic boundaries is crucial for working with our program. The ability to interact and communicate actively with other professionals (case managers, ABA specialists, social workers, attorneys, psychiatrists, probation officers, etc.) who help coordinate care and supervise individuals while in the community is also highly prized. Given the demands of reporting to these stakeholders in anticipation of court dates/appearances, timeliness and the ability to organize written reports effectively is also sought-after for our clinical cohort.
Does the program require that applicants have received a minimum number of hours of the following at time of application? If Yes, indicate how many:
Total Direct Contact Intervention Hours Yes Amount:500
Total Direct Contact Assessment Hours Yes Amount:50
Describe any other required minimum criteria used to screen applicants:
No other minimum criteria required, but prior experience working with justice-involved populations, adolescents, or individuals with IDD/ASD all standout as a plus when screening applicants.
